I will check when I get home tonight to see what there is on my 560x.
The fact that you are having the same problem in both operating systems
makes it sound like a hardware problem.
Do you have the latest BIOS flashed? Do you pass the diagnostics in the
BIOS test menu?
If that all looks OK then I would boot into safe mode, remove the controller
hardware from the device manager,
reboot to normal mode (with cards out of machine), power down, insert card,
then power up again.
The TI controllers in the 560Xare *very* finicky, and on my machine do
freeze the computer for a few seconds
after I insert some cards (notably my 3com net/modem card). In 98SE I then
have to do a ctl/alt/del and
stop the "message server" in the task manager.
