Hello everyone,
I have a IBM Thinkpad model 770 ED laptop. I recently formatted my computer
and I am facing this problem:
My modem doesn't seem to work. I downloaded and installed the modem
drivers from the IBM website : 9 Nov 2000 v2.60 (Crystal Audio MIDI
support). The modem properties shows that the drivers are functioning
normally and there are no resource conflicts. The modem does give me a
signal when I check it from Control Panel --> Modem --> diagnostics --->
COM2 ---> Thinkpad modem --> More info ( a maximum speed of 15 KB/sec).
However, it does not give me any output (dial tone not detected) when I do
a thinkpad modem test check. The modem does not work when hooked up to the
dial-up network. It gives me a error message 630 or 678.
Can you help me troubleshoot the problem..? Thanks.
