Hi,
We've got a TP 770X at work and its LCD backlight stopped
working after an unfortunate drop. The LCD displays the
images, but there's no backlight so you can't really see
a thing.
Windows 2000 detect the problem somehow and refuse to start.
I tried installing linux and works fine (if you connect TP
to a monitor).
IBM wants ~$1200 to fix the LCD problem. They say they need
to replace the whole LCD. Has anybody had similar problems before?
Is the problem really with the LCD? If yes, how easy is it to
replace the LCD ourselves with one bought eg from ebay?
Regards,
Manolis
