Traditionally the 1" high bay is for "- Thinkpad option using the Ultrabay tray
- CD-ROM/FDD/HDD" and the half height is for "All available storage SCSI/IDE
devices" (from HMM for selectadock2) so it can be a combo of SCSI and IDE
devices. There is also an external SCSI2 port so all sorts of stuff can be added
and not to mention the 2 more PCMCIA slots and PCI/ISA slots and ....

I did have an internal SCSI drive and external SCSI CD-ROM going at one time.
