Hello
My 560X has started going to the self-test screen on start-up.
I get the IBM/Thinkpad graphic then
097728 Kb OK
16 301
I went through the self test and it seemed to freeze during the memory
test so I shut it off and pulled the 64 Mb RAM chip (Kingston
KTM760x/64) after which I got
the IBM/Thinkpad graphic then
032192 Kb OK
16 301
So I don't think the 64Mb RAM card is the problem.
Without the memory card it actually completed the RAM self test before I
lost patience.
Any suggestions? I think this is happening before WIN98se loads so it's
not a Windows problem (though my 98Lite WIN98se installation is getting
flaky, the recycle bin icon has started changing itself).
I've been using the 560x on am IBM dock but I tried the startup undocked
and got the same error.
I'm going to go see what Norton Utilities has to say, then maybe I'll
let the RAM test run overnight.
