Yes there is.
You could often find them on ebay. With time, they may be

Plain PCMCIA devices generally work in the 701.
Cardbus PCMCIA devices don't, not just because of the electronics, but
because Cardbus devices have bumps on them to prevent you from
inserting the card.
USB, Ultrabay (and similar) devices don't work on a 701 because it
has no bay or USB port.
