Subject: Drive not seen

sure..!
will the tp "see" a HDD done on a desk top with
> ontrack or some other software?
hard to say..
last i heard, ontrack did something with the bios..
if its getting bios info from a different computer, it won't be valid on the
701..
i THINK..
After doing the work on my desk top the
> 701 will not see the disk size. A 3.4 gig HDD shows up in bios as a 28

access issues aside, the 701 will only report that amount of HDD capacity
OVER the gig demarcation..
i.e. if your drive is a 3.4gig with a real 3.28 billion bytes, the 701's
bios will only show the .28 billion, or 28 megs or whatever..
(bear in mind, i can't add with my socks on!)

do the ontrack stuff on the 701, but WHY not do it on the 701..
it will see a 3.4gig drive just fine..
i HAVE experienced "issues" with non-travelstar drives (toshiba for one) in
701's..
