It's also always seamed to me that HP branded CD-RW drives are priced higher
then their competition. You pay for a brand name with them, but apparently
not for quality.

As a person who has been replacing CD-RW's for compaq and HP for years, I
can tell you they are all terrible... nowhere close to Sony, Yamaha,
Plextor, Ricoh, and many others... Highest failure rate of any major
vendor... since March of 1999. and no positive change up through the 9300
series, at least.
