At this point I think I've made enough noise that the s/n for
my unit is tagged (it's toxic! beware!) such that a service
center would know.
But more germane is that I don't want to sneak around here.
I'd like to get the unit fixed, and still have a warranty. Thats
one of the reasons I've paid more for ThinkPads in the past.
Had I spilled gallons of gunk into the unit, I think it would be
different. As it is, something, most likely coffee, got into the
keyboard and some residue remains just outside (below) it.
An interesting point is that the keyboard WORKS. So whatever
it is, it didn't cause damage to what it most affected.
Well, I'll be making another call tomrorow. Stay tuned. And
wish my poor A30p well. Right now, he's a file and CPU
server for my little trusty 1480i.
