You're thinking of just the refund for the Modem. Later the movement was
amended to allow for compensation in other areas. It took a year or two
before the first refund was even paid out.

Actually I never said is was trivial. What I said, if you were listening
was that it sucks for the consumer. Reparations are generally small
(especially if you're not one of the 'primaries') it takes time for the
court case to go through, then the remedy to be approved. It requires legal
council to take it up (usually pro bono).
Personally before I would say anything about it being non-trivial for IBM
I'd like to see information regarding exactly what IBM paid out en toto.
