Subject: [Thinkpad] (760xd) External FDD swappability question
I have a 760XD with an External FDD and would like to know if anyone has ever tried to put in place of the floppy drive in the external case one of the other ultrabay devices such as cd, zip or 2nd HDD Adapter with HDD. Before I mess around and try to put a small HDD in the external FDD enclosure I would like to know if it might damage the enclosures' or its' ports' circuitry, and whether it would have a low bandwidth at this port if it works. I have some files I need to move off of a 6Gig drive in the Ultrabay with a 2nd HDD Adapter and can't copy them to the 3Gig C:\ drive on the laptop since that drive is currently too full. I would like to use the External Floppy Enclosure with a HDD and 2nd HDD Adapter to copy the files off of D:\ before I Ghost my C:\ to D:\ -after I have moved the files from it. Inside the External FDD is a ?"D? type wide ide/scsi?molux?centronix? connector"? (I don't know what to call this type of ultrabay connection) the same as the other ultrabay. Would it be seen as a Drive A:\ or as another assignable removable drive if it can work?
Thanks in Advance for any help!
