I do this regularly with a PC card flash disk on my 560 and 560X. It
doesn't work on my wife's T23.

Did you do this from the Windows version of DOS, or a 'pure' DOS? Try
formatting etc from a
non-Windows DOS (eg, bootdisk.com)
