Slight problem with my 770X the LCD doesn't always
shut-off.
Have Win2K installed, 384Mb Ram, 8.1 Gb HD, DVD-Rom and
swappable floppy.
Problem seems to happen only when the DVD is in the bay.
When the Floppy is plugged in - display shuts down
normally.
By shuts down I mean, start/shutdown/shutdown/OK - if the
DVD is in bay .
It appears to be a normal shutdown, but cursor appears
blinking on a black screen.
THis only occurs with the DVD - computer does a normal
shutdown with the FD>
DVD- works fine, it's just annoying.
Have reviewed the manual, and the best I can see is to
press the reset switch to turn off the LCD.
Since I don't always carry a pen - pulling the battery
works just fine.
All I recall doing before this started to happen - tried to
do a direct cable connection COM ports between laptop and
desktop.Don't know if this may be responsible for the
hiccups. It failed so gave up on the idea.
Also have noticed that if I've installed a program from CD
- and computer does a restart when next I shutdown with DVD
still plugged in, it will do a normal shutdown that time
only.
ANy clue to what might be happening, and why.
Thanks
