obviously it is OS related..
i have seen this behaviour before but never "cured" it specifically..
it usually stopped hanging on the shutoff by itself..
what I would do is reload W2k over the existing install and "refresh" the
various W2k files to the original..

did you search the M$ knowledgebase..?
