if the 760ED burns up system boards, let keep it from my 760ED that has been
gently cooking on the other side of my home-office for near 5 years
straight.. mostly 24/7..
FIVE YEARS..!!!
43,000 odd hours..
running a 3gig HDD with a few bad clusters that i could not sell because of
those bad clusters..

i took this machine in as a trade in..

not a good idea if one's business is SELLING thinkpads.. :-)

so..
1. the 760ED is near bulletproof..
2. the 560 series was a very successful thinkpad model..
3. the 770 was used by the army and THEY called them bulletproof..
4. two or three million 600 series made and sold makes that one another
success..

weak parts are the reason for warranties..
and thinkpad warranties are among the BEST..
