I have been using my TP 770X for the past week while
my TP 570E was at IBM for service.
The performance of the TP 770X mWave-based V.90 modem
(using the latest IBM drivers) is really inferior
to the TP 570E Lucent-based V.90 modem.
My disappointment is in both connect speed and connection
reliability.
- Connection speed: TP 770X (3.6Kbps); TP 570E(4.8Kbps)
- Connection length: TP 770X (30 to 120 min); TP 570E (rarely drops a
connection)
Are there any settings that I could investigate to improve the
TP 770X modem performance?
Or should I just replace the mWave mode?
If the mWave modem is replavced and disabled from the TP 770X
configuration, will this have a "positive" impact on overall systems
performance?
Thanks,
Steve
