I've had a Thinkpad T30 (2366-97U) for a few months now, and I have an
annoying problem. I have a horizontal line across the screen:

This line is not caused by a video driver or anything like that -- it is
even there on the BIOS screen. The first time it happened, I called IBM,
went through a tech support call where the guy kept asking if I was using
a Trinitron monitor.
After convincing him it was the screen, The EZ-Serve box came, and of
course the problem completely went away and stayed away. No point in
sending it back -- if they couldn't reproduce it, it would be a pointless
exercise.
Anyway, it is about 1.5 months since it last happened, and it happened
again today. The line is exactly 1 pixel high, and spans the entire
screen. It changes color based on screen activity, and on a white screen
it is black.
I would assume a bad video cable, although on my 600E, the video cable
going bad caused a vertical line, and a lot of them. I suspect that in
the next 2-3 hrs, the line will go away again (part of why I took the
pics).
Ideas on what it is, and more importantly, how do I better my chances
EZ-Serve will do something even if the line is gone when they receive the
laptop?
