The 500 series were the only ones with that footprint, though the
701 series is very close. I've never heard *why* the 701 series got
that number designation, when it's the predecessor to the 500/510
models. I remember lamenting the 560's comparatively huge footprint
when it was announced under the "Kite" code-name. Things didn't get
back in hand until the 240 models...
Anyway, the 510CS is considerably slower, and the color display
drastically reduced battery life as well. It's an inferior machine.
I can't help with drive models - I used a WD 170MB drive in my 500
and 510CS.
