I have installed many DVD's and combo drives into the TP 600 series. My
experience has been that unless the two drives are made by the same company
(i.e. Sony, Toshiba, LG, Panasonic, etc) they will not fit (The Faceplates).
There is no standard and each company has their own proprietary method of
attaching them. Even different models within a manufacturers line may be
different. Make sure the button lines up exactly right or it will be
rendered useless. I have had better luck using existing faceplates and
modifiying them to work be it by matching paint or creative dremel tool
work. Good luck.
