Re: [Thinkpad] T30/Radeon M7 Mobility, XFree 4.3.0 & LCD-off

For what its worth, I've had problems like this on my A30p and A31p
running OpenBSD version anything, X version anything.

My problem comes when the screen blanks, and I want to use it
again. The screen comes up, ie the backlight tube is on but no
screen data. The solution (such as it is) seems to be to hit Fn-F3
to blank the screen again, and switch to a non-X virtual console
(in my case ctrl-alt-F2). Sometimes the screen will come back to
life by doing just this. Other times I have to blank the screen,
switch to one screen (see that it didn't work), blank it, switch to
another and so on.

I'm still not entirely sure why I can fix this sometimes, with just a
few switches, and 40 attempts another time. I think the interation
between X and the console driver and the video driver is the
culpret, since I've heard of other platform's X users having the
same problem. Aggravating, I know.
