The T40 has the typical easy to remove hard drive (like other recent model
thinkpads); memory is easy also (unless you want access to the preinstalled
DIMM, which requires the same surgery as the mini-pci).

Ouch. I wish it were as easy as I'd assumed! Nancy, let IBM do this--don't
tackle it yourself!

Now I'm curious. The A series machines have easily accessible mini-PCI
slots. The T40p does not. What about the other T series machines--the T2n/30
machines?

Also, Greg, on the T40p, is the hard drive easily removable or do you have
to take the machine apart?
