[Thinkpad] A31p display

Talking about the A31P display. Did anyone else notice that the A31P
produces some noise with the display active (i.e. screen on) when running on
battery?
I have this both with Windows 2000 and Windows XP, and only in the
circumstances detailed above. The display drivers are most recent, but that
happened before too.
As soon as the screen goes off (when running on battery) or the power cable
is connected, the noise stops.
Please note I am not talking about the cooling fan, but about some kind of
electronic noise.
