Yeah, that's what I have to suspect when I hear that a mini-PCI wireless
card is not working as well as a PC card. In my A30p, I have used the
following wireless cards (all 802.11b):

ORiNOCO PCMCIA
Cisco PCMCIA
ActionTec mini-PCI
Cisco mini-PCI

Both of the mini-PCI cards outperform either PCMCIA card by a long shot.
It's like night and day, and no surprise considering that the mini-PCI card
uses two antennas at the top edges of the LCD, gaining both better placement
and diversity reception.
