RE: [Thinkpad] Adding wifi to

Ok, I have a better question (than my last one).
Are the anntennae already installed in all
x22's, and you just need to put in the mini pci
card? I know some of Dell's lappies are like
that- they put the antenna in all of a specific
model, regardlesss if you order it with wireless
or not. If so, that would make my project a lot
easier!
Thanks,
Justin

Yeah, that's what I have to suspect
when I hear that a mini-PCI wireless
card is not working as well as a PC
card. In my A30p, I have used the
following wireless cards (all 802.11b):

ORiNOCO PCMCIA
Cisco PCMCIA
ActionTec mini-PCI
Cisco mini-PCI

Both of the mini-PCI cards outperform
either PCMCIA card by a long shot.
It's like night and day, and no
surprise considering that the mini-PCI
card
uses two antennas at the top edges of
the LCD, gaining both better placement
and diversity reception.
