Nah, keep in mind that when you call up and tell the phone rep that your
keyboard is bad, they check the warranty status and authorize the repair. If
this is not a customer repaceable item, then you clearly are not expected to
look inside for the FRU or serial#
Once it get to EZSERV, they will only refuse the repair for customer abuse,
which means evidence of spills on the keyboard and like that. They are not
going to call you up to ask what happened to the "original" keyboard, to
which you would answer:
I Paid an IBM shop to replace it when it when bad in Tibet. I had a receipt,
but the yak ate it. Besides, it was in Tibetanese, so if I fax you a copy,
can you read it?
