First of all
NEVER put anything between the keyboard and the screen
That is how you get the famous trackpoint dent in the screen!!!!!!!!
Preferred method for cleaning is 50% alcohol (NOT the drinking kind) and 50% water.
For tough stains use Windex, although they say it yellows the screen after a while.

  Hi

A couple of tips for you.

You can buy specialist LCD cleaning solutions from most good computer stores. They often come with special disposable cloths that don't leave fibres on the screen. I use one called "Lindy Clean LCD Cleaner" which comes in a pump dispenser. Its pretty good at cleaning the keyboard & laptop mounting case too. I clean my laptop about once a week.

Unfortunately the LCD cleaner isn't very good at removing greasy fingerprints from the LCD screen. These accumulate when you type on the keyboard and the residual grease is transferred to the LCD screen when you close the lid.

When I got my new T22 laptop, I got into the habit of sandwiching an ordinary piece of A4 printer paper between the keyboard and the LCD screen before I closed the screen. If positioned carefully this doesn't seem to damage the locking mechanism. I've had the laptop for seven months and it's virtually grease free.

  Best wishes
