[Thinkpad] Upgrading the WiFi on the T40

I'm about to receive my ThinkPad T40 (ordered it July 11th, IBM told me this morning it'd be here by August 18th :/), and have a question about future upgrades of the wireless card.

For my particular model, the only two solutions that used the built-in antennas were the Intel Wireless/PRO 2100 mini-PCI and the Cisco Aironet mini-PCI adapter, both 802.11b. IBM did offer a 802.11a/b/g adapter, but it's cardbus and uses an external antenna, which I do not want.

Since the T40s are "wireless upgradable", I assume this means, in theory at least, IBM could release an 802.11a/b/g mini-PCI card which would use the internal antennas sometime in the future?

If so, does anyone know if such a card is in planning or if IBM is likely to release one? :)

802.11b is fine for me right now (my campus has an 802.11b network), but I'd like g as well.

Thanks!
Dave
