[Thinkpad] t23 wireless mini pci card not seen as wireless?

Hi Folks,

A friend was bugging me about how hard a time he had using his t23
on multiple wireless networks since he has to change the configuration
for each one (wep keys and such) each time he changes networks using
some utility (I don't recall exactly which one)...

This confused me since on my x24 I just have both my home and work
networks listed in my "preferred networks" list on the 'wireless networks"
tab of the wireless network connection properties pop-up, and for each I
have separate wep key properties...

I asked my friend why he didn't do the same thing and he replied by asking
me to show him how...

That's where I got really confused... his t23 also has the builtin wireless
minipci combo card... but the network connection attached to the card is
not a wireless connection but instead a regular "local area connection"
(as tho it thinks its a wired connection)...

So the card works, but since the system doesn't think its a wireless
connection, there is no "wireless networks" tab on the connection props.

We tried removing and reinstalling the device but get the same thing.

Anyone have any ideas? This isn't I suppose super critical to fix, but is at
the very least quite a nuisance...

Thanks,
-James
