Greetings all, I own a 9 month old Thinkpad R31 series which I use quite
heavily 4-5 hours a day. It was working fine until a week ago when the
computer seemed to turn itself off (no blue screen or logoff windows; more
like when you pull the plug from the wall without a battery). This keeps
happening now no matter what I am doing (writing a word document; surfing
the web; cropping pictures etc.) ..sometimes within 3 minutes up to around
25 minutes of use. I have to keep turning the computer back on and the
failure is repeated. At first, this was happening only on AC Power. I could
charge my battery up and use it no problem for 3 hours. But now the computer
is turning off on battery only power too. I am perplexed to think what is
wrong? Could it be the system battery needs replacing? I only bought it new
9 months ago. Any suggestions would be very helpful!
Other information which may be relevant: I am using a Canadian laptop with a
power adapter to work here in Australia. I had been doing this for 8 months
prior to the problem and even tried a new convertor just in case that was
the problem to no avail.
regards,
Peter
