They only will replace the hard drive size that came with the machine. The
13.3" model probably came with the 10gig, although there may be a hidden
revcovery partition on that drive making it the full 12 gig! Do an Fdisk and
see what is there.
That unit will run better and faster with 98SE than 2K, and will load a lot
faster
If you have the built in Ethernet card, you need to turn off automatic log
onto network at sign on, it is seeking a network connection and that is what
is taking so long!
I don't know how to do that in 2K

Subject: [Thinkpad] T20 - EZServe HDD replacement policy?
> Hello,
> Recently sent my newly-aquired T20 in for EZServe - HDD sounded
horrible, surely on its last leg. This was a 12.0Gb drive. IBM sends my
machine back with a ~9-10Gb drive. Now I'v sent a 560X in for HDD problems
also and they replaced a 12Gb with a 20Gb - apparently due to stock issues.
Now I'm not expecting the same generosity, but at least an equal drive size!
This is a 2647-itu model(13.3", dvd upgrade). I thought perhaps this was not
the original drive(per model), but the HDD is IBM genuine; shouldn't the
drive warranty be independant of the machine it's in? Or were they replacing
to model spec? I _did_ specify my drive size on the inventory list. Just got
it back today and would like your opinion before I call and/or fill out
their response card. ;-)
