I've used contact cleaner on those. Some controls respond very well after
that.
Else, you may want to open the unit up and see if there's any "play" in the
slider, which might indicate the physical connection is loose.

Subject: [Thinkpad] [TECH] Inverter question

I have a 770Z with a scratchy inverter....
Tapping the slider causes a flicker from dim to bright..
It's a mechanical problem in the slider itself.,
Anyone know if it is safe to spray some tuner cleaner in there, OR
Which wires to jump to get permanent brightness?
Anyone know how that slider works?
Thanks
