Jeffrey, didn't you get my email from yesterday? Here it is again:

Just go to http://www.pc.ibm.com/support and enter your type-model number in
the box. Download and install all of the drivers and utilities that IBM
lists for your machine. There is a multiple file installer they have now
that makes it a much easier process than it used to be. This will take care
of all of the problems you mentioned.
