Yep, I have to concur...wrong driver is installed, Windows has installed the
"standard" VGA driver when it couldn't find the proper one on the disk. The
600E recovery disk would have had the driver for the NeoMagic 256AV 2.5MB
chip but the 600X has the NeoMagic 256ZX which is a 4MB chip. The 600X can
do 1024X768 24bit color on the LCD or 1280X1024 8bit (256 colors)
