[Thinkpad] Problem with wireless card

My wireless card has been working fine (at home, using my own MS
wireless router) until a few days when it suddenly stopped.

Now I'm getting an IP adress of 169.254.37.16 (instead of a
DHCP-assigned value of 192.168.1.x). Of course the network is
inaccessible. I tried setting a value of 192.168.1.36 (instead of
DHCP) but still no network.

I've made sure the encryption value is the same on base station and
ThinkPad, the wireless channel is the same, SSID is the same, the
wireless card's MAC address is one of the allowed values. (I've
also tried without WEP and without MAC filtering, but no luck).

Windows 2000.

I know the high-speed and wired part of the router are working
because this desktop machine is online.

Is there anything I need to check on the notebook (or the router)?

Thanks!
