Following some suggestions made off-list, I am now downloading Redhat 9
and preparing to install it without GUI. Someone suggested a web-based
administration tool called webmin which looks excellent.
One point still hasn't been clarified: Does anyone know whether there
exists a Linux PCMCIA driver for this machine which supports CardBus
mode? Cardbus was supported under Win9X, but not under Win2000. Cardbus
is needed for a fast (100 Mbps) ethernet card.
