A colleague has a 765L which he hadn't used for a while. Now when he uses
it it (a) won't boot from battery (works OK off AC), and (b) the battery
charge light doesn't come on when he plugs the machine in (whether turned on
or not). The obvious suspect is a bad battery, but can the lack of charge
light also mean something else, like a bad DC-DC board? Is there any way to
diagnose without either another machine or another battery? I don't know the
76x series at all.
Oh - unlike all my ThinkPads, this one has that strange square connector on
the power supply; what are the extra two pins for?
