Point-enabled means, that the driver for the card uses the PC-Card
socket exclusively, it is not accessible for the PC Card Director
anymore. As you write that you can remove the card and reinsert it
without problems, it is seems to me that this card is NOT point-enabled.

As I said, I don't think that there is a chance to make it work playing
around with the parameters of the PC Card drivers.

I have no experience with 3Com PC-Card LAN cards, but with their ISA/PCI
cards. Those cards used to have a DOS based configuration program to
change their settings (IRQ, I/O address, and so on). One had to boot a
DOS diskette and start the 3Com configuration program from another one
to make this settings. Maybe this applies to the PC-Cards, too (but I
don't think so - I just want this to have mentioned). The reason for
telling you this is, that there is a chance that the card forgets it's
settings (the driver sets the card to during boot time) when it is
removed/powered down and changes them to it's standard values. Afterward
the driver and the card cannot talk to each other anymore. Setting the
card's default values to the same numbers as the driver does (see PC
Card Director's information about the card when it does work) may help
to solve this problem.

Have you tried to power the card off and on again using PC Card Director
as suggested in my previous post? If this shows the same problem and
nothing from my suggestions made above apply, then I see no chance to
make this card work. Sorry.

Greetings
Michael
