Is there a chance that maybe the DVD drive has jumpers making it a primary
versus a slave what it should be ? For example, I remember 760 Tp's cd roms had
a small slot behind the cd rom with a pin that changed it primary or secondary ?
Just a thought before returning it, or ruling out that it might be a defect.
Another thought that comes to mind is, take the hard drive out, leave the dvd
rom in, and power up the unit. Run the test and see if you get any errors ? At
least narrow the error code down to either the DVD being faulty, or the only
fact that both the hd and dvd won't work together. Someone help me out here,
but doesnt the 600X only have one ide channel ???
