Hi Justin
It seems you are not correct !?

One does absolutely not need to upgrade BIOS from floppy !
One more reason: Todays binary files, exspecially with saving
the old BIOS exceed the capacity of a floppy !!

My solution:
Booting from floppy with minimal system.
Flashing the new BIOS from somewhere on the HDD FAT area ;-)
It's better, more comfortable and faster than from floppy ;-))

Good luck, svobi

bOy I should of read your post a little more carefully. Never and I
mean never for anyone out there, use a "non floppy" version of BIOS
upgrades to upgrade your laptop or pc. I personally didn't even know a
non boot able bios revision existed.

I think that was the big no no. Anyone out there ever run non floppy
version bios upgrade ?

after reboot, the laptop no longer boots. No POST, no IBM logo, nothing
on the screen.

I read somewhere perhaps disconnecting the CMOS battery could reset the
BIOS? Where is the CMOS battery on a R31?
