Hello,
I have accidentally shattered a glass plate by putting it in a microwave
oven, so this damage could be the result of such an activity, however, I
would think that there would be damage to the casing and the circuit board
of the hard disk drive, too.
If you take a closer look at the exterior (or a closer sniff), do you see
any damage such as discoloration of the chips or other components on the
logic board or smell anything burnt?
