We use tracert (on Win98, tracerte on OS/2) because for the last several
weeks we have been unable to find an off-site IP address that responds
to PING. I have a suspicion many servers or routing devices have turned
this off (perhaps due to worm infestation?).
I'd welcome insight into this new development and a few known-pingable
IP addresses to test from my location (in Asia).
