I've only ever owned two Beemers, a '69 2000TIi and a '73 3.0CS, but I'll admit
that I'd _love_ to get that CS back!
I equate my upgraded 600X to my venerable MB 450SEL 6.9. Both are old, stodgy
looking when compared with some newer offerings and definitely outdated.
But! They're both also jaw-dropping fast! Looks _can_ be deceiving and the only
thing that matters is what's under the hood!
I equate my 133MHz 701C "Butterfly" to my late and much lamented Lotus Elan.
Both are engineering gems and rapiers rather than broadswords.
I equate my 770Z to my Exploder. Both are go-anywhere machines that are built
like the proverbial brick outhouse.
It's somewhat odd that I view my newer T series machine as just being
utilitarian. Rather like my old SAABs.
But, if I get the T40 I'm lusting after, I'm certain it will equate to my
Harley. Pure, unadulterated, IN YOUR FACE!
Emanuel, give the 944 a pass and go right to the 928. Just make sure it's a
928S4 or later! The 928 is the only Porsche I've ever coveted.
Regards,
James
450SEL 6.9, FOUR Exploders, various boats and airplanes and a '69 HD Sportster
