Old news to most on the list, but thanks for updating the archives with the
info. Before disabling the Trackpoint, did you try reseating the connector for
it under the keyboard? This will often get it working again.
But if it's well and truly dead, then the _best_ solution is to simply change
the keyboard, which is about a 10 minute fix. The keyboards are usually widely
available on eBay, or Bruce here on the list often has some.
