This is what I did in Fall 2002 when came the time to replace my trusty
570E with a more modern X.

I narrowed my choice down to the 2662-9DU X22, because:
1) the X22 was the first X to accept 512 MB memory sticks (which meant
being able to max RAM out to 640 MB)
2) the X22 was the first X to feature build-in WiFi (though only two
models had it, the 9DU being one of them).
3) I could get the Win2000 pre-load (wanted to stay away from XP)
I have been extremely happy with my X22. It's better built than the 570E
IMO (more sturdy, less plasticky). My next TP will probably be an X31
Centrino with built-in Bluetooth.
My TP background: 701C, 560X, 570E, X22, ie. all sub-2 kg machines. If
they manage to squeeze another 200 g out of the T4x, I may perhaps
consider one ;-)
Cheers, Dominique
