[Thinkpad] LCD screen flicker/corruption on T30 from standby

I have noticed a screen problem on my t30 (2GHz SXGA+ screen) when I bring
the machine out of standby. When it is brought out of standby the image on
the screen seems to 'skip' and comes up blurred, before momentarily
returning to normal before corrupting again. The only way it is fixed is if
I do a Fn+F7 to switch between displays and back to the LCD only option.

I am running WinXP but this problem is the same on Linux (unless it's a
different screen corruption issue on Linux).

Has anyone seen anything similar and any potential fixes.
