AND, FWIW, i still have a few new 701 butterfly (papillon) keyboards as
well as a bunch of complete 701C's that actually work.. :-)
one is in my small museum along with a 770Z, RS/600/860 PowerPC, 755CE,
760ED, an original "THINK" Pad and a few others..
the 701 was a milestone thinkpad.. in more ways than just its clever
design..
i was told by one of the designers that this was the last thinkpad designed
at RTP(research triangle park) in north carolina..
since then, most (or all) have been designed at yamato in japan..
