Hey, I seem to be having a bit of a problem that I can't find a solution to. I
have a 380ED and a Linksys Instant Wireless Card WPC11 version 4 that I
cannot seem to get working. I plug the card in after the laptop is all booted
up but I get nothing, not even the little POWER LED lights up. I reinstalled
the software, reinstalled the drivers, but nothing. I read that it might have
been conflicting IRQs but my PCMCIA ethernet card works fine, also from
Linksys. So, using some old DOS program I got from the IBM site, I tried
changing the IRQs of the PCMCIA cards, but to no avail. I've installed the
Thinkpad Configuration Utility, but, again, no help there. Can anyone give me
any sort of help, I'm at my wit's end here. This is for my sister's laptop, I
desperately need to get this working so I can get my chair back (the router
is right above my computer so she takes my chair because I have a wireless
keyboard and mouse and can work on the floor). Any help would be greatly
appreciated. As a sidenote, the card is not defective, I tried it in another
computer and it worked. Also, it was a tight fit to get into the card slot,
ie, it seemed the holes for the pins on the card were a bit small. I had to
use some "persuasion", read, rubber mallet, to get it in. I also checked that
the slot was okay by using the ethernet in the slot. Please help me. Also
note, please, no general instructions, I only work in Linux so I've forgotten
all I know about Windows.
