If I remember correctly, the Cardbus cards have a slightly different
connector ie. a 1 mm piece of plastic protruding somewhere around the
edge, to ensure it is not used in a 16-bits PCMCIA slot. This would
explain the need for a mallet !

The 380ED is definitely NOT Cardbus enabled, but I can't readily figure
out on
the Linksys website if the WPC11 is a Cardbus card or only 16BIT. The User's
Guide says that it _IS_ 16BIT, "System Requirements: A 16-bit PCMCIA
Type II or
Type III slot", but WTH it would require a mallet to install is beyond
comprehension unless the slot was already damaged in some way.
Very strange.
