I don't find an external floppy drive to be much of a hassle on the rare
occasions I use one (admittedly not while traveling), so I would hope have
hoped an external DVD would be ok - for example resting it on the keyboard.
The ultrabase X3 seems like more of a hassle. Would I have to remove it to
change batteries? Not to mention the weight. Speakers and port
replication are not very useful on an airplane.
Ripping DVDs to the HDD sounds like a good idea, but of course loses the
flexibility of renting DVDs or otherwise playing DVDs not on the
HDD. Would I have a problem with copy protection?
