[Thinkpad] thinkpad 600e screen problem

My thinkpad 600e screen started to flicker when it came back from
sleep and was a little red until it warmed up... then it would go back
to normal... this happened for about a week, and now today while using
it I got more flickering and then it went really, really dim. If I
closed the lid and then re-opened it it came back for a couple
seconds. I did this probably 6-8 times to close and save things I was
working on. I've taken off the screen and re-seated the ribbon cable
and the blank/pink cable to the small circuit board on the back of the
screen back, but nothing helps.

I've seen people talk about replacing the inverter and the lcd cable
and also the LCD, but I dont know what I should do, or where I can get
these things.
